Meeting of 12-Dec-2007

I assume there will be some formal notes from this meeting, so will just give my perspective.

For me this was a very useful meeting as I felt that everyone was receptive to ideas for progression, while being unafraid to say what they thought.

There were quite a few 'known unknowns' (such as Internet access) and some 'unknown unknowns' emerged (such as possible micropolitics regarding the ICT).

These are the main points that emerged for me:
- It would be possible to set up a 'demonstrator' site if some equipment could be delivered to BNC (VSO may be able to help).
- Some requirements analysis would be necessary, but the solution space should not be too prescribed. A Soft Systems approach might be useful (with a light touch).
- Patrick identified the need for persistent ICT training - maybe this could be combined with the 'demonstrator' system.
- Roger's research might form a useful starting point for a knowledge repository.
